#CS374 House construction Project!

When we first walked into our beneficiary’s home, it was completely dilapidated. It wasn’t just the roof that was caving in that needed repairs— the doors, windows and walls were all falling apart due to years and years of rainwater damage.What began as a simple roofing project had to be turned into a full reconstruction.

And so, when we walked back into the house most recently, to inspect the final result of all the repairs we had raised funds for we walked into a completely different home. The roof was no longer caving in, the rains would go on outside unabated and this woman and her family could still sleep peacefully knowing that there was no need anymore to worry over walls that might collapse, over business orders that might get wet, over school books that might get rain-clogged and waterlogged. There was no need anymore to spend long nights huddled on furniture, clutching her children close to her while the monsoon storms raged outside.

This is a house that they can live in. This is a house that is a home. Our beneficiary has also started setting up her business, and they are on their way to setting up a properly established livelihood!

Our work here is done.

The rains can go on outside, and this mother and her little boys can sleep in peace.
