A family of five struggled to meet their daily needs with the meagre wage of the father, the sole breadwinner—a fisherman who earns between Rs.300 and Rs.600 per day, depending on the catch. With a monthly electricity bill of Rs.300 and other expenses to manage, they also had to buy drinking water bottles at Rs.50 each and walk 2 km to fetch water for other purposes.
To ease their burden and provide a better life for this family with three young daughters, we built them a well, granting them access to a clean and reliable water supply. This not only spares them the long walks but also reduces the strain on their limited income.
