#CS260 Food For Needy 2024

Ramadan is the month of giving. It is the month of abstinence, and it is a month where we are reminded of how grateful we must be for all that we have, and how we have a duty to be kinder and more charitable to those who have less than we do.

And so many have less than we do. So many will discreetly look at the prices on the shelves of shops before returning home without having bought most of their Ramadan Essentials. So many will have to make do with lesser portions of food, because of the skyrocketing living costs in the country.

While we will have many dishes to choose from as we break our fasts at dusk, and while we will have much on the table for our food before dawn, there are so many of our brothers and sisters who may have nothing to break their fasts with. Our dining tables will be weighed down with all the food, while their whole family might have some dates to break their fast with, or a few bowls of porridge from the local mosque, after a long day of labour and fasting.
