#CS224 SCHOOL MEAL PROGRAM UPDATE: 13,000+ SCHOOL MEALS PROVIDED DURING THE LAST TWO MONTHS
Little children are collapsing in school assemblies, often having had neither dinner nor breakfast, starving and exhausted in the country that’s second-highest in child malnutrition in South Asia. The economic crisis and the price hikes in essentials have made it impossible for many lower income families to afford even the simplest of meals. In fact, we hear from teachers that students are stealing other children’s lunchboxes, out of absolute hunger and desperation.
We at Carestation are continuing to implement our School Meal Programme— a venture where we provide food packs to schools that are mostly attended by children belonging to lower-income families. Over the last three months since the initiation of this project, we have provided 13000 such school meals the last two months. Often, this meal that we provide via their school is the only meal that the students receive for the whole day.
No child should ever have to go hungry, and we at Carestation urge our kind donors to help us ensure that doesn’t happen. We have two more schools that urgently require funding for us to be able to implement the School Meal Programme, and so we kindly request you to send in your donations to help fund our School Meal Programme in these schools, to help us feed a child, to help us nurture a generation. We need funds of 40,000 a month to provide meals for these students, and make sure they don’t go hungry.
